Last rite of mother performed from daughter's home

By Basudev Sharma, Jajarkot, Nov.6: The last rite of 66-year-old Indira Shah who died in the earthquake of Friday night was performed from her daughter's home. 

Siddhi Ganesh Shah, son of the deceased Indira Shah, said, “Earthquake damaged home of Thapne, Bheri Municipality-3, therefore, the last rite of the mother was performed from sister Sulochana Shah's house.” 

The earthquake jolted Jajarkot at 11:47 PM last Friday with a 6.4 Richter magnitude scale with its epicenter in Barekot Rural Municipality, Jajarkot, thereby causing human casualties and property damage. 

The earthquake killed 157 including Sarita Singh, Deputy Mayor of Nalgad Municipality, and injured 253.  

According to the District Police Office, 105 in Jagarkot and 52 in Rukum (West) lost their lives in an earthquake.
