Death toll reaches 137: Karnali Province govt

Karnali, Nov 4: The death toll in the Jajarkot earthquake has reached 137. The facilities combine the numbers from the Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts which were hit hard by the earthquake.     

Minister for Law and Spokesperson of the Karnali Province government, Krishna Bahadur GC, informed that 99 people lost their lives in Jajarkot. Among them, 69 are women and 30 men. Similarly, fatalities in Rukum Paschim reached 38- 19 males and females each.     

The number of people injured in the disasters is- 81 in Jajarkot, 72 in Rukum Paschim, three each in Jumla and Dailekh and one in Salyan.     

Those injured in the disaster are receiving treatment in the health facilities of Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim and Banke districts. However, detailed information is being collected.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' along with ministers and leaders reached the earthquake-hit areas and met with the disaster survivors. (RSS)
