PM Prachanda appeals to all for rescue, relief to quake victims, to visit affected area with medical team

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has appealed to all for rescue and relief of the victims of the earthquake.

Taking to the social media, PM Prachanda said early in the morning today, “I am deeply sad over the deaths of people and damage of properties due to the earthquake measuring 6:4 magnitude at 11:47 Friday night with epicenter in Rami Danda of Jajarkot. All three agencies of security forces have been mobilized for the rescue of the injured due to the tremor. I appeal to all for coming together for the rescue and relief to the quake victims.”

According to Govinda Acharya, Press Advisor of the Prime Minister, PM Prachanda will go to the quake affected area along with a medical team for the rescue and treatment of the quake victims and that a helicopter along with the medical team has been kept stand by for the same.

“The PM is ready to reach to the affected area with the team, but it has delayed due to weather conditions in the given area,” said Acharya.

A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude with epicenter at Rami Danda of Jajarkot had jolted the western region at 11:47 PM on Friday. The major tremor was followed by other smaller ones within an hour measuring 4.8, 4.2 and 4.3 at 12:08, 12:29 and 12:35 AM Saturday.
