Govt bans marigold flower import from India

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 1: The government has banned the import of marigold flowers (Sayapatri) from India. 

The Pushpa Bikas Kendra, Godawari, Lalitpur which is within the jurisdiction of the Bagmati Province, informed with regard to the ban on the import of flowers by publishing a notice on Wednesday.

The government banned flower import with the anticipation that Nepal has sufficient flowers to meet its required demand for this Tihar festival.

This notice was effective from 18 October 2023.

There is a strict direction in the notice that stern action will be taken in case of flower import without prior approval.
