President, Vice President greet Nepalis on Dashain

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 21: President Ramchandra Paudel has wished happiness, peace and prosperity, good health, long life and progress to all sisters and brothers within the country and abroad on the occasion of the greatest festival of Nepalis, Bada Dashain. 

In a message issued on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami on Friday, President Paudel said “This festival is a symbol of victory of truth and defeat of evil character, victory of virtue over vice, mutual harmony, brotherhood and reunion.”

He expressed his belief that this festival will end distortions and anomalies and inspire all to increase social harmony, unity and brotherhood. 

“I also wish that this festival gives all Nepalis the power to achieve economic prosperity with justice and equality in their respective areas,” he added. 

The Head of the State said festivals like Dashain are contributing to further strengthening originality in the midst of geographical, cultural and linguistic diversities, as well as to keeping cultural unity and identity intact.

He said the protection and promotion of Dashain could help awaken the feeling of unwavering respect and deep love for the nation and nationality.

Similarly, marking the same occasion, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has extended his best wishes for the prosperity of the nation as well as for the happiness, peace and good health of all the Nepalis on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami. 

Noting that Nepal’s democratic system has protected multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-costumes diversity, he said this has worked to connect all regions, geography, religions, communities and cultures. 

He also expressed his confidence that the festival will contribute to strengthening the national spirit of Nepal through strong unity within our social diversity.

“I wish that Bijaya Dashami can motivate all Nepalis to forward the country towards prosperity by strengthening national unity, integrity, sovereignty and nationalism by binding the country to the formula of unity.”

Meanwhile, CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli organised a tea reception in Jhapa to extend Dashain greetings on Friday. 

Speaking at the tea reception held in Birtamod, Oli said that festivals like Dashain play an important role in promoting harmony in society.
