Ambassador Srivastava highlights Nepal-India ties

By Rajan Rawat,Humla, Oct. 18:Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava has said that the Indian embassy is committed to helping the rural and remote areas of Nepal develop. 

Inaugurating the new library and laboratory the embassy built for the Mahades Secondary School at Deuli, Chankheli Rural Municipality–2 on Tuesday, Ambassador Srivastava expressed his commitment to the development of education, health, drinking water and sanitation in the rural areas of Nepal. 

Noting the friendly relations maintained by the two countries, Srivastava said that Nepal's development was India's development. 

He also said that the Indian mission was always ready to aid the education of children in remote places.

Pyari Lal Shahi, chairman of the rural municipality, expressed gratitude for the embassy's help and said that the local level would not have been able to build the educational infrastructure with its own resources.

The embassy built the two-storey library cum laboratory building at a cost of Rs. 50 million. 

Earlier the same day, Ambassador Srivastava inaugurated a library the embassy built in Sarkegad Rural Municipality–1.
