NRNA general assembly in capital from today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 17: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) is going to organise its international general assembly, along with the 11th Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Global Conference and the third Global Knowledge Convention, in Kathmandu from Tuesday to Friday.

Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Association informed that it would hold the events, organised jointly with the Government of Nepal, Confederation of Nepalese Industries and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of its 20th year of establishment. The events are being held under the slogan ‘For Nepali By Nepali’ and with a focus on ‘Knowledge and Transformation: The Foundation of Prosperity’.

As per the schedule released by the NRNA, President Ramchandra Paudel shall inaugurate the event on Tuesday and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will address the closing ceremony on Friday.

On Thursday, NRNA will choose a new leadership. A total of 4,227 representatives from 59 countries are participating in the general assembly. 

This will be the first time NRNA will allow its members to vote online using a facial verification system.
