Petrol price drops by Rs. 11 per litre, diesel/kerosene by Rs. 5 each

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 16: Nepal Oil Corporation has slashed the prices of petroleum products. A meeting of the NOC's board of directors held on Sunday decided to reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene effective from Sunday midnight.

According to the Corporation, the price of petrol has decreased by Rs. 11 per litre and diesel and kerosene by Rs. 5 per litre each.  According to a press statement issued by the NOC Sunday evening, the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene have been cut due to the decrease in the prices received from the Indian Oil Corporation. According to the new prices, the price of petrol in Kathmandu Valley has dropped to Rs. 172 per litre while the price of diesel has fallen to Rs. 168 per litre.

Similarly, petrol will now be Rs. 169.50 per litre in the first category and Rs. 171 in the second category. 

The price of diesel will now be Rs. 165.5 per litre in the first category and Rs. 167 in the second category areas.

The NOC said that the price of aviation fuel and cooking gas has remained unchanged. Earlier, the NOC had withdrawn the decision of the price hikes of petroleum products under public pressures on October 1, 2023.
