Humla holds local food exhibition

blog

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Oct. 6: On the occasion of the 1st International Millet Day, an exhibition featuring district-level dishes made from the local crops, cultivated in Humla, was organised to promote the commitment to preserve local crops.

Dharma Bahadur Shahi, head of the Agricultural Development Office, said that the exhibition is aimed to raise awareness about local crops and their significance. The event sought to bolster the preservation, promotion, and marketing of local crops.

Various dishes made from local crops have been prepared and showcased in the one-day exhibition. Shahi noted that while local grains from Humla are charged high prices in city hotels, there has been a decrease in local consumption. This exhibition aimed to reverse that trend by increasing production and consumption at the local level, he added.
