By Gobinda Sharma, Banke, Oct.3: The District Administration Office (DAO) Banke, has issued a curfew order in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City and nearby areas.

The curfew order has been enforced to come into effect from 1 PM on Tuesday by DAO.

According to Chief District Officer Bipin Acharya, a curfew order has been issued up to Rapti Bridge on the East, the road to Indrapur at Khajura Raod on the West, Ranjha Chowk in the North, and Jamunaha border point in the South.

He said that a curfew order has been issued in a way that public gatherings, meetings, processions, prevent public gatherings, and rallies cannot be done. It is done so as to prevent the effect of vandalism of public property, stone strewing, and disorderly activities on public safety and peace.

The curfew was ordered because of vandalism and damage to public property after a dispute during rallies by Omkar Samaj Hindu Pariwar on Tuesday, and after a terrible situation that was created after a procession by Muslims against the social media comment on October 1.

Earlier this morning, a harmony rally was organized in Nepalgunj in the presence of Hindu and Muslim religious leaders with an appeal for peace and harmony.
