Natikaji music evening concludes

Kathmandu, Sept 14 : The Natikaji Sangeet Shrawan Sanjh-2080’ was recently organised with the objective of preserving and promoting the rich legacy of Nepali modern music.

Presented by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the musical evening was jointly organised by Natikaji Memorial Society and Cultural Corporation.

The splendid musical evening showcased 20 timeless music of Natikaji. 

The event celebrated the diverse range of Natikaji’s contributions, from bhajans and folk to national anthems, film songs, and modern melodies.

 The heart touching songs of Natikaji including Yo Nepali Shir Uchali, Nepali Hami Rahaula Kaha, Kali Pari Dai Kati Ramro, Pahad Basi Banama kheli, Fulko Thungga Bagera Gayo, Banma Phulyo Phulai Phula, Kasturi he Baas Aaunchha Bhanchhan, Para Laijau Phool Haru, Sapana Bhulai Sara, Aajhai Ra Rati,  Ukali Oraliharuma, Yesto Pani Hudo Raichha, Marna Baru Garho Hunna, Timi Aauchhau Bhanne Aashai Aashma, Timile Ta Haina , Rani Talau have been sung with live music. 

A line-up of Nepal’s eminent singers graced the event. They included singers like Anand Karki, Ramkrishna Dhakal, Devika Bandana, Shiv Pariyar, and Suresh Lama among others. All these artists have been pivotal in shaping the contemporary Nepali music scene.

Held at the Auditorium of Cultural Cooperation, the musical extravaganza was telecast live by Nepal Television, allowing music enthusiasts across the nation to be part of this celebration.

Highlighting the importance of the event, Shambhujit Baskota, the president of the society, said that the evening was conceptualised as a bridge for generational continuity in Nepali music.
