Dr. Dhakal named NAST secretary

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 26: Dr. Rabindra Prasad Dhakal, a prominent figure in the field of science and technology, has been named as the Secretary at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ who is also the Chancellor of NAST, appointed him for a term of four years, effective from Friday. Dr. Dhakal is known for his wide-ranging contributions to space research, ICT development, bio-energy and digital networks programmes.

Dr. Dhakal was the Chief Technical Officer at the NAST as well as the spokesperson.  Dhakal completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Saga University, Japan. After assuming his office, Dr. Dhakal expressed his commitment to nurturing a sense of hope and enthusiasm among the youth regarding science and innovation.
