Kedarnath festival to be held in Sinja

blog

By Our Correspondent Jumla, Aug. 21: The historic Kedarnath festival in Sinja, Jumla is set to be celebrated with grandeur this year.

Located in Ward 4 of Sinja Rural Municipality, this festival will be inaugurated by the Minister for Culture and Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati.

Purna Prasad Dhital, chairman of the rural municipality, said that although this festival takes place every year on Bhadra 10 (September 27), the goal for this year’s celebration is to achieve wider publicity.

To ensure the event’s success, planning sessions have already taken place at the sacred site of Kedarnath with the Sinja village executive committee, said Dhital.

The rural municipality is organising the festival to raise awareness about this historically significant yet lesser-known religious site, and to garner the state’s attention, added Dhital.

The event will witness participation from notable figures including Minister Kirati, Karnali Province Minister for Land Management Agriculture and Cooperatives, Bhim Prakash Sharma, MPs from Jumla, representatives from various political parties, religious leaders, and local media.
