20 injured as College Bus rams into Bolero jeep

By Shanta Adhikari, Chitwan, Aug. 16: At least 20 people have injured when a college bus rammed into a Bolero jeep that was carrying a dead body at the East-West highway's Tikauli Forest Area of Bharatpur-9 on Wednesday Morning. 

According to Bijay Raj Pandit, the Spokesperson of District Police Office, Chitwan, Oxford College's Bus (Na 1 Ka 6131) heading towards east from Bharatpur hit a Bolero Jeep (Na 2 Cha 8446) carrying a dead body which was coming from the opposite side at 11:40 AM.

The bikes and vehicles plying along the road also collided with the  jeep and the bus as the two hit each other.

 

Citing the hospitals' reports, the police said that out of 20 injured, seven were seriously injured and two were in normal condition.  

Treatment of 12 injured is underway at the Bharatpur Hospital, one in New Medical College and the other seven are receiving treatment at the Old Medical College. 

According to the Police, all collided vehicles are stranded at the accident site and College bus driver Ashish Pariyar is taken under police control.
