Lalitpur honours students

By A Staff Reporter,Lalitpur, Aug. 3: Lalitpur Metropolitan City has honoured the students who secured a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4 in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) of 2023. It has also feted the schools the students went to.

Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan and Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Bajracharya honoured 14 students from six schools with cash prizes on Tuesday. Each student received Rs. 200,000 and each school received Rs. 400,000, as per a press release issued by the metropolitan city.

Aayusha Regmi, Abhinav Basnet, Abhyudaya Man Singh, Arjit Joshi, Biraj Bhusal, Pranaya Govinda Amatya, Shraddha Giri and Shilu Ranjit were awarded from GEMS School, Atidi Subedi was awarded from St. Mary's Secondary School, Utsav Jha and Sumnima Ghimire were awarded from Nightingale School, Astha Thakur was awarded from DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School, Astha Pandit was awarded from Little Angels School and Jennifer Chaudhary was awarded from Bright Future Secondary School.

Felicitating the students, Mayor Maharjan said he was happier than the day he won the election and shared that the local government had done a lot to improve the quality of education.

Deputy Mayor Bajracharya said that the metropolis had prioritised education that imparts skills and happiness rather than one that focused on wealth.
