Woman in labour rescued

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Aug. 2A pregnant woman from Sarkegard Rural Municipality, who was in labour pain, has been successfully rescued by a helicopter and transported to the district hospital.

This was the first time that the President's Women's Upliftment Programme utilised a helicopter to rescue pregnant women within the district.

Bipana Fadera, 27, originally from Upapani village in Sarkegard Rural Municipality-3, and currently residing in Dulli, Ward No. 4, was the recipient of the helicopter rescue operation, which was accomplished in close coordination with the rural municipality, Health Service Office, and the local administration.

Bipana had been experiencing health issues since July 31, and upon referral from the Sarkegard health post, she was promptly airlifted by helicopter to the district hospital. Then, she received medical treatment at the maternity ward on Tuesday.

Sarita Bohora, a senior nurse at the hospital, confirmed that the pregnant woman is currently receiving treatment, and further medical attention will be provided as per the situation.

In the previous fiscal year, 11 pregnant and post-partum women were rescued from the district and transported to hospitals outside the district for specialized care.
