Karnali CM inaugurates driving license service in Chaurjahari

By Our Correspondent,Rukum West, July 31: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Raj Kumar Sharma has directed to make the government services free from middlemen and maintain good governance while delivering services.  

CM Sharma made these remarks while inaugurating the process of issuing a driver's license from Chaurjahari in Rukum West.

He emphasised that government services should be hassle-free. "The province government is committed to bringing government services closer to people's doorsteps." 

CM Sharma said that in order to end the situation of visiting other districts and standing in queues every day, transport-related services have been started from Chaurjahari. He said that the transport service offices in other districts have complaints from time to time, so the office in Chaurjahari should be free from complaints. 

Chief Minister Sharma expressed confidence that the process of obtaining license will be easy for the applicants of Jajarkot, Dolpa, Salyan and other districts along with Rukum West.  The license distribution and issuance processes have begun from the province after the office started providing biometrics services. Distribution of the biometrics to those who have filled out the online form from July 18 for the license have begun. 

Anand Chapagain, head of the Traffic Management Service Office, Chaurjahari, said that biometrics will be conducted on the applicants four days a week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). 

Chapagain said that the written exams will be conducted after the biometrics and then the trial will be held. 

At present, the trial centre has been operating by renting a private driving institute. Now, licenses for motorcycles, cars, jeeps, vans, scooters and auto-rickshaws can be obtained from Chaurjahari.

Until now, the office was providing services such as vehicle registration, name change, tax collection, blue book renewal, license renewal, route permit issuance, vehicle test pass, etc. From now, the office will issue driving licenses.
