Crowds for citizenship drops in Mahottari

By Our Correspondent,Bardibas, July 29: The District Administration Office Mahottari has issued citizenship by birth to more than 2,000 persons.  

 Assistant Chief District Officer Upendra Neupane said that 2,268 have received citizenship by birth in a month.

The District Administration Office, Mahottari, has started issuing citizenship certificates since June 25 this year after the Citizenship Bill was authenticated. 

Till July 26, the Area Administration Office Gaushala had issued citizenship certificates to 1, 036 people. 

Neupane said that the District Administration Office distributed citizenship certificates to 870 people, Bardibas Area Administration Office distributed 267 and Ramgopalpur Area Administration Office distributed 95. 

Of 64 who got citizenship certificates issued by the Gaushala, 25 received citizenship by birth, said Hem Karki, the head of the Area Administration Office.   

The unusual crowd that appeared in the administration offices immediately after the citizenship certificates by birth started being issued, has now disappeared.

According to the citizenship section of the District Administration Office Mahottari, citizenship applications were registered through the token system earlier and up to 70 people each day applied for citizenship, but their number has now come down to 25 to 30.
