Memorable Trip To Gosaikunda

blog

My sisters planned a three-day trip to Gosaikunda. Despite initial scepticism from my parents about my ability to trek and the risk of altitude sickness, I climbed high mountains and surprised them. I proved myself. It was a beautiful feeling. On a beautiful Saturday morning, I woke up at 6 o'clock, washed my face, and got ready for the adventure ahead. After breakfast and brushing my teeth, my family, our neighbours, and I gathered at Kalanki to catch the bus waiting for us. Excitement filled the air as we embarked on our journey. The bus ride took us 7 hours to reach our destination. Upon arrival, we wasted no time and purchased raincoats in anticipation of possible rainfall. We also got trekking poles to ease our journey. The trek began in Dhunche, and our first stop was Deurali, where we spent the night.

Day 2 started early, as we woke up at 4 o'clock. After freshening up, we continued our trek towards Chandanbari. Three hours of walking led us to our destination, where we enjoyed a hearty lunch and even had the opportunity to ride horses. We also visited a cheese factory, which left us amazed. After a two-hour break at Cholagpati, we resumed our journey to reach Laurebina for the night. Around 5 o'clock, we arrived and marvelled at the snow surrounding the local houses. We settled into our lodge, had dinner, and went to bed early, eager to start our trek to Gosaikunda the next morning. Unfortunately, the next morning, I woke up feeling unwell. Concerned, my dad decided to stay with me until I felt better.

Luckily, with some time and the blessings of Gosaikunda, I started feeling stronger. My dad, my phupu, and I decided to ride horses while the rest of the group continued on foot. Eventually, we caught up with them, capturing memorable moments through photographs and enjoying the serene atmosphere.

While some took a dip in the Kunda, I washed my hands and face and joined in building a snowman. As the wind picked up, we decided it was time to head back. We stopped at Cholangpati for lunch and trekked until Khimdi, where we spent the night due to the darkness. The following morning, fueled by a refreshing tea session, we resumed our journey. In just two hours, we reached Dhunche, where we had a light breakfast before heading to our bus for the return trip to Kathmandu. This trip to Gosaikunda will forever be etched in my memory as an incredible adventure filled with fun and cherished moments.
