blog

By Our Correspondent,Rukum (West), July 11: Goats have been distributed in Ratamata Dalit settlement located in Ward no 13 of Chaurajahahari Municipality, Rukum (West).

Shree Krishna Sharma, ward chair, said that the goats were distributed to 30 families in the village.

According to Sharma, goats were distributed on the basis of need as goat rearing is a source of sustainable income.

The municipality purchased and distribute the goats under the nutrition-friendly local government promotion programme of the municipality.

The municipality has invested Rs. 300,000 for the programme. The local government expects to help reduce poverty through income generation and improve the nutritional status of poor families.
