Guras premiered at Karlovy Vary Int’l Film Festival

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 8: Nepali film ‘Guras’ had its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

 Director Saurav Rai attended the premiere and expressed his satisfaction with the responses received from the audience.

 As per Czech Republic time, the film screening took place on Wednesday at 4 pm and received a full house attendance, informed the film unit. 

‘Guras’ tells the story of a 10-year-old girl’s quest to find her lost dog while exploring the changing economic and social dynamics of Darjeeling. The film also explores the generational differences and concerns between parents and daughters through its characters.

Produced by Ramakrishna Pokharel and Sanjay Gulati, along with LOW IQ productions, ‘Guras’ features Tulshi Khawash in the lead role as 'Guras' and also stars Khagendra Lamichhane. 

The technical aspects of the film were completed in Mumbai, India, with Subal KR handling cinematography and Saurav Rai and Ankita Purkayastha have edited the film. 

Ankita, who has previously worked on popular shows like Netflix's ‘Betal,’ ‘Typewriter,’ and Amazon Prime's ‘Kota Factory’ and ‘Panchayat,’ served as the sound designer for the film.
