Monsoon arrives in Nepal, spreads over four provinces

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 14: This year's monsoon entered the country through Eastern Nepal on Wednesday.

According to a special bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the monsoon has entered one day delay of its scheduled date.

MFD said Monsoon reached Koshi Province, Eastern parts of Madhesh Province, Most of the parts of Bagmati Province and eastern parts of the Gandaki Province on the very first day. 

The amended monsoon onset date for Nepal is June 13. Earlier the onset date of monsoon in Nepal was June 10. The MFD made this revision after 30 years in 2021. As per the revision, the monsoon will retreat on October 2. Earlier, September 23 was the withdrawal date. 

MFD said it seems that the monsoon will advance gradually in a few days in the other parts of Nepal.
