By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 10: Poet and artist Ramesh Shrestha has published a new anthology of poetry 'Malami, Pahad Ra Sarangi'.
Writers Tirtha Bahadur Shrestha, Ashesh Malla, Shree Purush Dhakal, Usha Sherchan and Bishwa Bimohan Shrestha jointly released the book at a function organised by Sahitya Post in Lalitpur. Shrestha commented that his poetry was full of symbols and a bit complicated to understand. “But if you try, you can understand it and find it very touchy,” he said.
Malla opined that his poems were full of poetic consciousness. “That's why, they are different from others,” he asserted. Sherchan said that he is as adept in poetry as in paintings. Essayist Shree Om 'Rodan' recited an essay on poet Shrestha's creativity in poetry and paintings.
Poet Shrestha confessed that his poems were written for his own satisfaction. “But I hope, it is acceptable for the readers as well,” he said. Poets Rajendra Shalav, Laxmi Rumba, Mani Lohani and Manisha Gauchan among others recited poems by Shrestha at the programme chaired by editor-in-chief of Sahitya Post Ashwini Koirala.
Poet Shrestha, who hails from Pokhara, is former academician of Nepal Academy of Fine Art. He has many books of poetry, paintings and book covers to his credit.
