Dhading, June 7 : The Dhading district court has made a decision in favour of Sana Kisan Krishi Sahakari Sanstha, Sanaula Bazaar, a local cooperative, in Dhading.
A group of 13 members, including
Krishna Bahadur Shrestha on behalf of the cooperative had filed a case at the
district court against its manager Leeladevi Pokharel Adhikari demanding return
of the deposits of its members as per the written document.
The case was registered at the
court in July 2021 noting cooperative manager Pokharel had embezzled the deposit
amount of the cooperative members by showing operational loss.
A single bench of District Court
justice Swikrit Parajuli, issuing an order on Tuesday, directed Pokharel to pay
back over Rs 5.9 million as pledged in the written document, informed court's
registrar Khum Bhandari.
The cooperative had registered the
case demanding return of principle amount with interest.
Nara Bahadur Bhandari, a member of
the cooperative, said the court decision has protected the deposit of farmers.
