FDB to hold National Children's Film Festival

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 17: The Film Development Board of Nepal (FDB) is all set to organise the first National Children's Film Festival.

 The festival is scheduled to take place in Dang district from June 16 to 18, as decided by a meeting of the board held on Tuesday.

 The festival aims to promote education and culture among children through films, encourage children to practice filmmaking and support the formation and operation of children's film clubs. 

Additionally, the festival will feature an exhibition of long and short educational films related to children, as well as an attendance-based competition on film knowledge, a book exhibition, a photo exhibition, and a film dance competition.

The festival coordinator, KL Budhathoki, said that the festival would also feature a segment 'Balabalika Sanga Bhuwan KC'. 

This segment will showcase the local tableau and cultural exhibition, along with the introductory audio-visual materials of the board chairman.

The festival also aims to facilitate Nepali children and their films to participate in various national and international children's film festivals.
