By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 6: A hat-trick from Stephane Binong helped Khumaltar FC to move to the safe zone in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League after they humiliated league leaders Jawalakhel Youth Club by 3-1 at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Lalitpur on Saturday.
After stunning league leader Jawalakhel, the bottom spot Khumaltar climbed to the 11th place with 17 points from 15 matches while Jawalakhel is still at the top of the league standings with 24 points from 15 matches. Church Boys United is in the second with equal 24 points, and a
game in hand.
Similarly, Friends Club has dropped to the bottom of the league standings with 15 points from 14 matches together with the Nepal Police Club.
Cameroonian striker Stephane Binong scored a hat-trick and Messouke Oloumou for the bottom spot Khumaltar while Rohit Subba of Khumaltar scored in his own post.
Binong opened the account for Khumaltar FC in the 20th minute beating two defenders of Jawalakhel
inside the box.
Rohit Subba of Khumaltar levelled the score 1-1 for Jawalakhel as he scored in his own post in the 42nd minute while clearing the close-range strike of Nkoto Synous Masoabi.
Binong restored Khumaltar’s lead to 2-1 in the dying minute of the first half scoring his individual second goal.
Unmarked Binong scored his third in the 50th minute from inside the box by taking control of a long-range pass from his
teammate Messouke.
Binong completed his individual first hat trick in the league. This is the second hat-trick scorer in the ongoing league. Earlier, Olawale Afeez of defending champion Machhindra Football Club had scored the league’s first hat-trick against Khumaltar
in the first leg.
Bipin Kandel scored for Jawalakhel in the 90+2 minutes with a stunning goal from inside the box.
Messouke sealed the match for the winning side in the 90+5 minutes with his volley in the one-versus-one against Jawalakhel goalie Anish Deuja in Binong’s pass.
Binong was declared the Player of the Match for his remarkable performance against league leader Jawalakhel.
Sherpa moves to safe zone
Himalayan Sherpa Club moved to the safe zone at Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League after they stunned Nepal Police Club by 2-1 in another match played at the Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu on Friday.
With a victory against NPC, Sherpa moved to the safe zone as they climbed to the middle of the table in the seventh position with 20 points from 15 matches while the NPC dropped to the relegation zone with 15 points from 15 matches.
Abayomi Fakunle and Amit Shrestha scored one goal each while Saujan Rai scored a consolation goal for the NPC.
Abayomi Fakunle opened Sherpa’s account in the 14th minute.Unmarked Fakunle headed the goal.
Saujan Rai levelled the score 1-1 for Policemen in the 30th minute. He scored a stunning goal from a crowded area in the rebound ball.
Amit Shrestha confirmed Sherpa’s victory in the 51st minute. Unmarked Shrestha scored from inside the box.
