By TRN Online, Chitwan, May 1: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal
'Prachanda' has assured that the government is ready to fulfill demands put
forth by Mahabir Pun, founder of National Innovation Center.
Speaking at a press meet organized
by Press Center Nepal, Chitwan, PM Prachanda refuted allegation that the
government has ignored Pun's demands.
"A day before he started
sitting at Maitighar Mandala, Mahabir Pun had come to Baluwatar. We had a good
discussion. He put forth some demands. He started sitting-in after holding
talks with the government. The government is ready to address his demands. I
will take an initiative for this," said the PM.
Prime Minister Prachanda made
it clear that the decision to provide relief to the former combatants
disqualified under the UNMIN standards was taken over nine years ago in 2014.
Then the distribution of the relief
was halted because a case regarding this was filed in the Supreme Court, now
the SC has issued verdict that permits distribution of the relief, and the government
has initiated the process for the same, said the PM.
He said discussions were being
held to provide relief in instalment due to economic challenges at present.
Prime Minister Prachanda also
shared his expectation that the Rastriya Swatantra Party will join the
government soon.
