Senior litterateur Kainla awarded

Kathmandu, April 29: Nepali Writers' Association has awarded senior litterateur Bairagi Kainla.

At programme organised here today on the occasion of First Writers Day, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka awarded litterateur Kainla. The award carries a purse of Rs 100,000.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka said litterateurs have incomparable contribution in political changes of the country. 

"The contribution of litterateurs was significant for the change at a time political leaders were lagging behind", he opined. 

Saying the incumbent government was committed to end anomalies taking place in the country and to resolve all problems seen in economy, DPM Khadka shared that activities should be carried out in order to raise hope among the people and country.  

Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, said Kainla fought for political change in the country through his creation, recalling that Kaina had led the democratic movement from litterateurs' side. 

On the occasion, DPM Khadka unveiled a book 'Lekhak' published by the Association. (RSS)
