Poudyal wins trophy

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 23: Sanjay Poudyal won the Ncell Baahrakhari Golf 2023 here at Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday. 

Poudyal was tied with Tashi Tshiring at 40 points. Playing with 12 handicap Poudyal scored 21 on the back nine whereas Tshiring got 18.

Sanjay got the golden golf ball as first prize of the tournament. Tashi Tshiring a scratch handicap golfer, managed 40 gross points and won the best gross award. HE also got the most birdies prize after he carded six birdies.

Babu Sherpa was nett runner-up with the score of 38 points. Tara Karki Chitrakar was the Ladies winner with 37 points, Kashmira Shah finished runner-up with 33 points. Dr. Bhagwan Koirala was the winner among senior golfers (age 60 and above) with 37 points.

Dorje Hoazangtsang got the longest drive after hitting a 310 drive and Raj Pradhan got the closest to the pin after missing a hole in one on 10th hole by just two inches, no one claimed Hyundai KONA the hole in one prize.

Total of 115 golfers took part in a tournament organized by Baahrakhari Media Pvt. Ltd. The tournament was inaugurated by Rt. Honorable Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal and Chief of Army Staff General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Chairman and Publisher of Baahrakhari Media Pvt. Ltd. Prateek Pradhan, Managing Director Gyaneshwar Acharya, and Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
