TikTok competition to promote Lumbini

By Our Correspondent,Siddharthanagar, Apr. 21: The Lumbini Development Trust has announced a TikTok competition ‘Ghumaun Lumbini’ on the occasion of the 2567th Buddha Jayanti.

 Sanuraja Shakya, member secretary of the Trust, said that the main objective of the competition was to publicise and promote Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board.

The competition is open to both the national and international participants, and all the  contestants are required to create a creative TikTok video promoting Lumbini as the source of Buddhism and world peace. 

To participate, the contestants must register their name, contact number, and TikTok account at ghumaunlumbini.com. 

The videos should be made between April 23 to May 3, and the winner will be announced on May 4.

The competition requires original and creative short videos, and an expert evaluation committee will select the winner, who will receive cash and other prizes. 

The main objective of this contest is to showcase the significance of Lumbini, and encourage more people to visit and explore the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, said Shakya.
