By Thakur Prasad Acharya,Myagdi, Apr. 20: This year, all school students are overjoyed to receive textbooks at the beginning of the academic session. The students had faced difficulties to get textbooks throughout the session in the past couple of years.
Now with the availability of the books at the beginning of the academic session, it is widely expected that the quality of school education will be better this year.
The academic session of this year began on Sunday (April 16).
According to the students, their studies were affected in lack of textbooks in the past. They said that it would be easy for them to study this year as they received the textbooks right after being admitted to schools.
This year, the textbooks required for the public school students studying from grade 1 to 10 have reached all the schools in the districts.
Khemraj Subedi, education officer of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality, said that the textbooks had reached all the schools, even in the remote areas of the municipality, and they had started distributing the textbooks.
Shanta Nepali, headmaster of Gyan Prakash High School of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, said that it had been easier for the school to carry academic activities after the arrival of textbooks in time. He informed that all of his students got the textbooks.
In the meantime, guardians, teachers and students are also seen happy to receive the textbooks at the start of the academic session. Deepak Shrestha, headmaster of Beni Community School, also expressed his happiness for being able to distribute the textbooks during the admission time.
Dal Bahadur Thapa, head of Education Development and Coordination Myagdi, said that textbooks had been made available to all schools in the district in time this year. He said that as of the record of the office, all the students had received their textbooks.
Federation of Book and Stationery Traders Myagdi had collectively invested and brought about 15,000 sets of textbooks in the district. They had prioritised to distribute the textbooks in the remote areas. There are 232 community schools in Myagdi district.
