By Our Correspondent,Khalanga, Apr. 19: School students in Jajarkot district had to struggle hard to get proper education in lack of textbooks last year.
According to schools, last year, the textbooks arrived late and they were also insufficient.
However, this year, the textbooks have reached the district including its rural parts in sufficient quantity within two days of the start of the new academic session.
Officials informed that the textbook distribution and admission programme are now underway in all seven local levels of Jajarkot.
The new academic session for schools started from Sunday, April 16.
Schools have also started conducting campaigns to enrol all children in schools to ensure the right to education for all.
"Textbooks arrived in our school on Sunday. We started distributing them to our students from Monday," said Pratap Rokaya, headmaster of Bhagwati Secondary School in Ward No. 13 of Bheri Municipality in Jajarkot.
According to Rokaya, they had struggled hard to provide quality education to the students in lack of sufficient textbooks last academic session.
"We all are happy to see that the students got the textbooks in time this year," said Rokaya.
Similarly, Narayan Prasad Sharma, headmaster of Durga Basic School in Ward No. 11 of Bheri Municipality, said, "Teachers and students suffered last year as there were no textbooks until late. Now, we have received the textbooks and will distribute them to students in time."
"We have received the textbooks from Rajendra and Devendra Book Store and Rokaya Book Store and distributed them to the students," said Amrit Pun, Chief of Education Division of Bheri Municipality.
Schools in Kushe Rural Municipality also shared similar views.
"Community schools should be promoted and we have a role to ensure they operate effectively. We are coordinating with schools so that no child will be deprived of education," said Harichandra Basnet, chairman of Kushe Rural Municipality.
