By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called the meeting of the Constitutional Council for Friday morning to appoint the Chief Justice.
The meeting has been scheduled for 9 am on Friday (April 21) at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Prime Minister’s political advisor Haribol Gajurel confirmed Monday night.
Recommending the name of the Chief Justice (CJ) is one of the agendas of the proposed meeting of Friday.
Meanwhile, the leaders of five ruling parties discussed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill.
Gajurel informed that the meeting held in the PM’s residence in Baluwatar Monday evening discussed the issues related to transitional justice. However, the leaders were yet to reach a conclusion, he added.
Leaders including Prime Minister Prachanda, NC President Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, CPN (Unified Socialist) vice-chair Rajendra Pandey, Sarat Singh of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party and Rajendra Prasad Shrestha of Janata Samajwadi Party, among others were present in the Baluatar meeting.
