Trial centre for two-wheeler vehicles ready in Tansen

By Our Correspondent,Palpa, Apr. 10: A trial centre for acquiring the driving license of the two-wheeler vehicles has been prepared at Banstari in Tansen, Palpa.  The centre has been constructed to provide driving license of the small vehicles to the citizens of seven districts of the region, including Palpa.

The construction of the centre was delayed by six months.  The trail centre, whose construction had started in March, 2022, completed six months after the expiry of its contract deadline. 

Keshav Sunar, Head of Transport Management Office, Tansen, said that although Abhi Construction Rampur Palpa had signed a contract to complete the work by the end of November, 2022, the construction of the centre was delayed by six months due to the contractor.

Sunar said that the trial centre was built at a cost of Rs. 3.47 million provided by the  Lumbini Province government. He said that the centre would soon be handed over to the transport management office. The office said that after the completion of the centre, the process of conducting the trial for the  two-wheeler would begin shortly.

 Before this, the office used to issue only the driving licence. 

Sunar further said they would begin to distribute the license of the four-wheeler vehicles from the office in the near future. 

The centre was constructed in an area of 19 ropanis of land, according to ward chairman of Tansen-7, Pradeep Khanal. 

It is said that after the trial centre comes into operation, the citizens from the districts of Palpa, Gulmi, Syangja and some parts of Arghakhanchi, will be able to get the license directly. 

“We have planned to start the work of license distribution from the first week of new Nepali Year (2080) after making all the physical structure of the trial centre ready,” Sunar said.

Earlier, one had to spend two to three days for the trial driving of  small vehicles, as all the applicants should reach  places like Butwal, Kathmandu and Nepalgunj for the trial driving before getting the license.
