Dipayal, March 23 : The District Hospital Doti has started providing free ambulance service to pregnant women visiting hospital for delivery.
The Hospital decided not to take
any charge for ambulance service to those women visiting the hospital for
delivery till the end of the current fiscal year.
Hospital Chairperson Dhan Bahadur
Nepali said the ambulance service has been made free of cost if the hospital
refers the patient to any hospital of the country for delivery service.
He opined, "The hospital
started providing free ambulance service as a relief to the pregnant women
having low income and those who are at high-risk due to complicated pregnancy
case."
An arrangement has been made to
provide Rs 2,000 to those taking delivery services in the hospital as the
transportation.
Radha Chand of Badikedar rural
municipality-2 said it has become easier to pregnant women of rural areas after
the operation of free ambulance service.
Officiating Medical Superintendent
at the Hospital, Nirajan Shrestha, said this programme would benefit the women
who have to be brought to the District Hospital for failing to give birth in
health institutions located in rural area. (RSS)
