Qatari Princess reaches Annapurna Camp 2

By Our Correspondent,Myagdi, Mar. 16Qatari Princess Asma Al Thani's mountaineering team has reached Camp No. 2 on Mount Annapurna. The team is currently attempting to climb 8,091-metre peak Annapurna I, located in Narchyang, Annapurna Rural Municipality–4, Myagdi.

Al Thani and her five-member team, led by renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja, reached the camp, at an altitude of 6,700 meters above sea level, a week after leaving Dana in Annapurna Ward No. 3. Should weather permit, the team will complete their climb of Annapurna within the next 15 days. 

The company Elite Exped is managing the royal's expedition.Princess Al Thani has previously climbed Mt. Everest, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Manaslu in Nepal.

If Al Thani is able to successfully summit Annapurna I, Ramesh Purja, chairman of Annapurna Rural Municipality Ward No. 3, said that it would boost tourism and bring mountaineers from far and wide.
