Narayangadh (Chitwan), May 18: The number of patients visiting Bharatpur Hospital has increased on Monday. The flow of patients for out-patient department (OPD) service has increased on Monday after the government's decision of a two-day weekly holiday for Saturday and Sunday.
Public Health Officer of the Hospital, Prakash Panta shared that more than 3,200 patients through insurance and non-insurance facilities received health care services on Monday itself. Earlier, around 2,500 patients used to visit the hospital every day before the decision of the two days' of weekly holiday.
Problems have surfaced in referring patients from Bharatpur Hospital due to the increasing number. Ram Bilas Lamichhane of Ratnanagar-12, who is waiting for the referral letter of the hospital for eye treatment, complained of a delay in the service due to patients' crowd.
Hospital's Spokesperson Dr Ram Prasad Sapkota shared that the number of patients increased on Monday due to a two-day weekly holiday. "We provide OPD service from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on other days. OPD tickets are available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. So we urge patients to receive service without making a crowd."
He further said preparations were underway to provide referral service through a separate unit and the referral service would be made systematic within one or two days. (RSS)
