By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 19: Parliamentary hearing of the proposed chief justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma has started at the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC).
The PHC called a meeting to study work plan of and
complaints against proposed CJ Sharma on Tuesday morning.
PHC president Bodh Narayan Shrestha urged all the
members for cooperation to move forward the process of hearing as not much time
will be needed for the study of complaints after hearing them, and that
proposed CJ Sharma could as well be asked for clarifications.
Altogether seven complaints have been registered in the
PHC against proposed CJ Sharma. As per the constitutional provision, the
President appoints the CJ after the PHC approves the name following the
recommendation from the Constitutional Council. Constitutional Council has
already recommended Dr. Sharma to the post of CJ.
