Kathmandu, Feb 22 : An agreement has been signed between the Chaudhary Foundation and Chisapani Hospital to upgrade the services of the health centre. The two organisations on Tuesday agreed to expand the services, including specialist services in Chisapani Hospital located in Bardaghat Municipality-2 of West Nawalparasi.
Due to a lack of a well-equipped hospital, the residents in the district have been deprived of quality healthcare services. The locals are compelled to visit Butwal and Bhairahawa even for general check-ups.
The Chaudhary Foundation has taken the initiative to develop Chisapani Hospital as a referral hospital to end the compulsion for locals to visit other places in search of health facilities.
Central Member of Nepali Congress and Member of the House of Representatives Binod Chaudhary had promised to develop Chisapani Hospital as a hospital with specialist service facilities during his election campaign in November last year.
According to the election pledge, the hospital is going to be developed as a well-equipped health institution in the Nawalparasi district.
According to the agreement inked by the Foundation and the Hospital, easy and hassle-free emergency and other services will be ensured in the hospital. The hospital will be upgraded in seven areas so that the patients will get reliable health services at the local level.
It is mentioned in the agreement that 24-hour lab facilities will be available at the hospital, a birthing center with surgical facilities will be established and 24-hour emergency services will be ensured.
Also, an agreement has been reached between the two parties to implement token system for OPD registration, to provide artificial limb service, and to make the hospital independent within next four years.
It has also been agreed to prepare a financial plan to develop the hospital as a referral hospital. The hospital will have gynecologists, surgeon, prosthetist, general service specialists and other consultant doctors.
In order to make the service delivery of the hospital effective, a committee will be formed in which the representatives of the municipality, people's representatives, representatives of the foundation, and the hospital administration will all be represented.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, MP Chaudhary expressed his belief that the citizens would receive quality healthcare services with the help of specialists from Chisapani Hospital.
"During the election campaign, we had promised to provide specialist services at this hospital. I will continue to make the services of this hospital more specialised in the future,” he said.
