By Our Correspondent, Chitwan, Feb 16: A group students of
Prabhat Secondary School, Chitwan, made teachers, guardians and other
stakeholders awe-stricken this week by showcasing a prototype of Signature
Bridge which is going to construct over the Narayani River.
Civil Engineering stream's grade 12 students of the school
made such a bridge model in the instruction of schools' teachers.
The
road divison of the federal government has prepared the design of the bridge
and the government has already allocated budget to construct the bridge from
this year.
On
the basis of the model, Debal Aryal, Bipin Mahato, Yaman Bhandari, Ankit
Adhikari, Sujan Khadka, Alankar Bhusal and others got involved in the project.
The
school encouraged children to do such a project to enhance their practical
knowledge in future, Shasi Bagale, Civil Engineering Department Head of the school
said.
Those
students has displayed their skills during 51st anniversary and
parents' day of the school.
All
the visitors appreciated their effort and level of knowledge regarding the
project, Bagale said.
In addition to the model bridge, engineering students also
showed prototype of the Mayadevi temple, Lumbini, Dharahara, Baudha Stupa and
others. They also developed the fire alarm system, LDR circuit.
The
bridge over the Narayani will be the first of its kind in Nepal as it will be
constructed using highly advanced equipment to give picturesque shape and
design to it. The bridge department under the road division has prepared the
preliminary design of the bridge. It is stated that the bridge will be
constructed using the latest Chinese technology.
This model bridge is expected to be eco-friendly and will not
obstruct the water flow in the river. The bridge will be decked with various
charming lights playing religious hymns that could be visualized and played
mainly in the evenings.
