By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan.24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that ministers serving in the incumbent ministerial cabinet cannot oppose federalism and republicanism, pointing out that it is a basic principle of the current government.
PM said, “Federal democratic republic and federal inclusive democracy are pillars of our new constitution, which have been accepted by all through the constituent assembly as a very big contribution and achieved after a long struggle.”
PM said that voices of contraction were raised against this and there was no uniformity in replacing the then monarchy with a republic and inclusive proportional representation. This current political scenario was formed by the contribution and sacrifices of many Nepalese. As a result, now a country is progressing in an ideology of a federal democratic republic state.
“Many questions are being raised against federalism while going into the implementation part, but, I just came to hear about it personally. I have come to hear one of my own ministerial cabinets has spoken against federalism and it is not acceptable while serving as a minister under a current ministerial cabinet. There is the freedom to express any views as a political ideology but, serving under the ministerial cabinet denies it,” said PM Prachanda, while addressing the National Assembly meeting today.
