Nepathya team flying to Australia

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan. 19: Folk rock musical band Nepathya is flying to Australia on Friday for their musical tour. 

 Earlier, in December 2019, the band had performed in six cities of Australia.

This time, the band  will perform in eight Australian cities, according to a statement issued by nepalya on Wednesday. 

The band recently completed its month-long nationwide tour.  

The band had performed in 10 cities of all seven provinces in collaboration with 'Manavsewa Ashram, a non-profit organisation serving in the field of street dependents across the country. 

Lead singer of the band Amrit Gurung said, "Inspired by the response of the same trip, we have thought of presenting our performances throughout the year 2023 as a series of humanity promotion campaign with the slogan 'Music for Humanity'."

Under the 'Nepathya Music for Humanity Australia Tour 2023', the band’s musical journey will begin on January 25 from the 'Entertainment Centre' in Darebin.  

The band is scheduled to perform in the Australian cities Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Camry, Perth, Sydney, Victoria, Melbourne and Tasmania.

A 13-member team including six musicians is leaving for Australia on Friday.  

The team will return to Nepal on February 20.

Lead singer Gurung will be accompanied by Dhruv Lama on the drum set, Suraj Thapa on the keyboard, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Subin Shakya on the bass guitar and Shanti Rayamajhi on the Madal.
