Gokarna Dayal,Baitadi, Jan. 18: The entire family of singer and musician Bhuwan Badu of Baitadi district in Sudurpaschim Province has earned fame by engaging in music.
His father, late Hashanraj Badu was a singer, who used to sing and organise 'Ramlila'. When the then King Mahendra visited Baitadi in 1961, Hansaraj introduced Deuda song by singing a welcome song in the local language.
Hansaraj also prepared a drama Harischandra in the Sudurpashchimeli language. The drama is considered as a great movement for the development and promotion of Sudurpashchimeli language, literature and art.
Hansaraj spent his entire life in the music sector.Singer and composer Badu won the best Deuda Singer Award for the song Sun Laxima in the recently concluded Rara Music Award 2022 while his son Jeevan Badu won the music composition award for the song Chamcha Pilet.
Bhuwan's middle son Aman Badu is doing photography and video editing, while his younger son is playing guitar and other musical instruments in the studio.
Jeevan has arranged many popular songs including Gharako Chhat, Jale Rumal, Chamcha Pilet, Samjini Paani Chhamkine, Karai Dhoideun, Yo Bhagyam Khot Chha. Jeevan, who has obtained higher education in music, is one of the busy arrangers of the latest times.
Singer and musician Bhuwan, who has been operating Nepali recording studio in India, is in the limelight for his songs including Nyaulya and Sun Laxima and dozens Deuda songs.
Deuda songs Saiya-Sayalu, Khodpe Patana, Hamra Sreekotama, Meri Nirmala, Mero Pyaaro Dadeldhura and Hudkeuli arranged by Bhuwan are very popular.
None of the recording studios in Kathmandu believe that the singers of Sudurpashchim Province can sing well other songs as well Deuda.
Despite the disbelief, Bhuwan has now gained fame by teaching his sons higher education in music and running his own recording studio.
Jeevan has been doing arranger and mixing-mastering work.Bhuwan's wife Mahi is also handling their recording studio in Kathmandu.
Bhuwan has been continuously singing, playing, arranging, recording, mixing and modeling for three decades. Lately, Nepali folk songs, modern, Deuda, Bhojpuri, Maithali, Rana-Tharu, Sello, Tappa, Salaijo, Kumauni, Hindi are recorded and edited in his studio.
