Importance Of Laughter

blog

Laughter is indeed a strong medicine. Laughing can reduce stress and half of the health problems. From strengthening the immune system to boosting the mood, nothing works faster to bring back the mind in balance than a good laugh.  It’s astounding how quickly laughter releases anger. Looking at the funny side of problems, not just enable us to move on from the battle but also shows us the path to forgive sooner and progress. In some way, laughter acts as a natural pain killer. How easily it diminishes all the stress and suffering. A good relaxed feeling is what everybody wants at the end of the day and tittering provides that warmth. Laughing actually lightens the body and mind and stimulates positive energy. It forces you to be pragmatic in all ways possible. It is impossible to be pessimistic at the time you laugh.

The most amazing fact about laughter is that it is contagious. So, adding more laughter into your life not just makes you feel happier but also helps elevate the moods of others around you and make them laugh even more which is a very good way of improving social interaction and bringing people together. Laughter always proffers happiness and makes relationships more joyful. It is said that people who embrace laughter are likely to live longer and the best reality is, it is free. But the tragedy is that laughter has been lost somewhere in this hustle and bustle of life.

As a child, it was too easy to laugh. Laughing was quite frequent. But, as an adult, life tends to be more serious and consequential. Very few people can say, “I am so happy” and laugh without fear. Maturity leads to more contentment and a greater appreciation of what really matters in life and with age, happiness has retired.

The reliable correlation between happiness and laughter no longer exists. Deflated expectations are leading to violence and with the expectations so high, despondent is an inevitable result. In such a situation, there has been no place for contentedness and laughter has vanished. Today, in this frantic time, everyone is running behind something. Situations might be different with individuals; destinations might be different.

But the main motto of life is the same for everybody and that is “To remain happy”.  Over and above that, laughter is a way to happiness. But the adverse scenario is that the value of laughter has somewhere ceased to be.

Research says that the average child laughs 300 times a day and an average adult just 17 times. We are letting life take away our happiness on a regular basis. At times, we are confused, and overburdened and end up creating miseries in our heads. Everything might feel masked up. But laughter isn’t a gratification to feel guilty about when things aren’t going well. Laughter is actually a wonderful tool to put things into perspective. In fact, it keeps the negativity within proportion. The more we wallow in sorrow, the more we amplify it. Besides, try to deviate from problems and laugh.

Life is worth living as long as there is a laugh in it. So, why live a life in half measure, laugh for your good health. Laugh to release the stress. Laugh to strengthen the relationships. Laugh to find greater happiness and add years to your life.
