BY OUR CORRESPONDNET, Nepalgunj, Nov. 30:The 9th general convention of the National Federation of the Disabled began in Nepalgunj on Tuesday
Dr. Ratna Bagchand, Chief Judge of Tulsipur High Court, inaugurated the convention amid a function at Balegaun of Nepalgunj.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Chief Judge Bagchand said that the constitution of Nepal has not discriminated the disabled and non-disabled people, but opportunities and rights should be given to the disabled persons.
The government should pay more attention to the disabled people, he said.
Mitra Lal Sharma, president of National Federation of the Disabled, presided the ceremony, which was also attended by former chairmen of the Federation Sudarshan Subedi, Dr, Birendra Raj Pokharel and Deepak Koirala.
Over 200 representatives of the Federation from across the country are participating in the two-day general convention.
