By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 27: Ahamad Raza claimed five wickets as Bagmati Province moved to the summit of the ogoing U-19 National Selection Tournament after registering a 152-run comfortable victory over Madhesh Province at Mulpani International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu on Saturday.
Bagmati reaches top of the table with six points from three matches they played while Sudur Paschim remained at the second spot with four points from two matches and Province-1 is at the third place with two points from two matches. with an equal two points from two matches Lumbini Province is at the fourth spot in the net run rate system.
Likewise, Madhesh Province is at the fifth place with zero points from one match and Karnali is at the sixth spot with zero points from two matches and equal zero points from two matches Gandaki Province is at the bottom of the league in the net run rate system.
The Player of the match Ahamad Raza took five wickets as Bagmati bundled out Madhesh in just 65 runs in the 25.5 overs.
Similarly, Abishek Koirala grabbed three wickets while Pratik Shrestha and Sakriya Karki contributed one wicket apiece in the Bagmati’s unbeaten journey.
Skipper Abhishekh Tiwari scored the highest 18 runs for victim Madhesh while opener Mayan Yadav hit 11 runs but other batters of Madhesh failed to face attacking bowling from Bagmati.
Earlier, opting to bat first, host Bagmati scored 217 runs with loss of all wickets in the 47.3 overs in the allocated 50 overs match. Opener Uttam Magar top-scored with 71 runs off 98 balls while Yogesh Bhat also completed his individual half-century (59) off 40 balls and the middle order and all-rounder Pratik Shrestha contributed 30 runs off 63 balls for the winning side.
Rajesh Yadav claimed four wickets while Abjit Mandal grabbed three wickets and Ranjit Kumar took two wickets and Abhishekh Tiwari bagged one wicket for victim Madhesh in the match.
Lumbini beat Karnali by six wickets
Lumbini Province registered a second win in a row after beating Karnali Province by 6 wickets at TU International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu.
Lumbini chased the target of 101 runs in 20.5 overs with the loss of four wickets. Opener Aakash Tripathi notched up a half-century and he topped the score for the winning side. Tripathi hit 52 runs off 47 balls while skipper Bishal Bikram KC scored 13 runs off 24 balls and Prajjwol Thapa contributed 10 runs off 11 balls to register second victory in a row.
Anuj Chanara claimed two wickets while Sandip Shahi and Mohan BK grabbed one wicket each for victim Karnali Province.
Earlier, Lumbini bowled very well as Karnali all-out in the 100 runs in the 22.2 overs in the allocated 50 overs match.
Opener Bipin Rawal scored highest 36 runs off 39 balls while Suwash Ayer hit 23 runs off 23 balls but other batters of Karnali failed to face attacking bowling from Lumbini Province.
Skipper and all-rounder Bishal Bikram KC alone claimed four wickets while Avishek Gautam grabbed two wickets for the winning side. Similarly, Tul Bahadur Thapa, Nirmal Gurung and Nar Sarki contributed one wicket apiece for the winning side.
Likewise, skipper KC was declared the Player of the match for his remarkable bowling against poor Karnali. KC took four wickets from his five overs spell and he conceded 17 runs.
