People attracted to Ayurvedic treatment

BY JAY KRISHNA YADAV,Inaruwa, Nov. 26: The number of patients taking Ayurvedic medicines and health services is increasing in Sunsari district. The number of service seekers has increased at District Ayurveda Health Centre, Sunsari and other Ayurveda pharmacies. 

Pritichan Sahu, a service seeker of Babiya in Inaruwa Municipality-9, said that the trust in Ayurveda health services is increasing because of the slow benefits but long-term benefits. 

According to Sahu, patients with problems such as gastritis, stomach ache, reluctance to eat, joints pain, and neuro problems have started seeking treatment at the Ayurveda health centers and dispensaries.

It has been found that people who believed less in Ayurvedic medicines and sought treatment in medicals and hospitals before are now seeking treatment at the ayurveda dispensaries. 

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, chief of the District Ayurveda Health Centre, Sunsari, has informed that patients who have lost faith in Ayurveda medicine and rush to seek services at medical centres and other hospitals are now taking services at Ayurveda health centers.

According to Yadav, people who have closely taken the benefits of Ayurveda medicine, which is the oldest medical system in the world, have been promoting it among each other. Until a few months ago, five to 10 people used to come to the District Ayurveda Health Centre on a daily basis, but now the number has increased to 10 to 25, said Yadav.

Yadav informed that most of the people with problems related to bone joints, neuro and stomach visit the Ayurveda dispensary.

Rupa Shrestha of Inaruwa-6 said that Ayurveda medicines prepared from precious plants found in the village are beneficial for health.

"After taking Ayurvedic medicine for one disease, it does not affect another disease and the medicines has helped keep my body healthy.” 

She said that after taking Ayurveda medicine regularly, various problems like stomach ache and loss of appetite have been cured.  She said that she is now receiving regular medical treatment from the Ayurveda dispensary. 

Various Ayurveda health institutions in the district have conducted Ayurveda service programmes for general treatment.

In the past, programmes like school Ayurveda and Yoga education programme, herb introduction programme, healthy life were conducted by the centre, informed Yadav.

According to Yadav, there is an enthusiastic presence of citizens in this programme and the number of people taking Ayurveda services has increased.

The medicines recommended by the government are being distributed only after checking the health of the patients. 

According to the experts, medicine made by mixing various herbal products such as Pakhanbed, Tulsi, Bel, Yarsagumba, Timur, Zwano, Garlic, Harrobarro, Amla, Silajit, among others, is considered beneficial for health.

The District Ayurveda Health Centre is in Inaruwa and Ayurveda dispensaries and Ayurveda service centers are found in Itahari Sub Metropolitan City, Barahakshetra Municipality, Gadhi Rural Municipality, Koshi Rural Municipality and Dewanganj Rural Municipality.
