Parijita Bastola in top 10 of the Voice of America

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 24: Parijita Bastola has entered the top 10 of the American version of the television reality show The Voice of America.

Bastola, an American of Nepali origin, has managed to secure the top 10 position in the singing reality show on Tuesday.  The 17-year-old girl is in singer John Legend’s team.

She entered the next stage based on audience votes. 

She sang Adele's song All I Ask on Tuesday. Parijita wore a black saree and blouse while singing in the final 13 competition. 

Due to her dress, she has drawn attention from Nepali and Indian communities.

By issuing a video message, Parijita has asked audience to vote for the next phase. Parijita Bastola currently lives in Maryland, USA, with her parents. 

 Two decades ago, the Bastola family had gone to America from Kathmandu, Nepal. She was born in the USA.
