Clashes in Bajura, one dead as police opens fire

By Sher Bahadur Sarki, Bajura, Nov. 20: A youth died at Triveni Municipality-7 when the police opened fire to disperse a clashing mob of political parties.

The deceased has been identified as Sandip Ayedi, 28.

Gindra Bahadur Bogati, information officer at the Bajura District Police Office, said that the police opened fire to take the disorderly situation under control when clashes between cadres of political parties took place during the voting time.

Bogati said that some other locals were also injured in the incident and that a Nepali Army helicopter had flown to the area to rescue the injured.
