National Land Commission's delivery questioned in House

Kathmandu, Aug 16: The members of the House of Representatives have drawn the government's attention to the lack of effective performance of the National Land Commission (NLC).     

 Airing their views in a 'zero hour' of the lower house today, they questioned the lack of 'effective' delivery of the Commission despite the completion of a year of its formation. The Commission aims to provide land to the landless Dalits, and others squatters and manage the unsystematic settlers.     

Lal Prasad Sanwa Limbu was among those questioning the delivery of the Commission.     

Similarly, Lal Babu Yadav expressed his concern over the sluggish progress in regard to the development projects while Basanta Nembang demanded the budget for the Panchthar district-based stadium.     

Bimala Bishwakarma, Shanta Chaudhary and Bina Kumari Shrestha demanded prompt action in regard to the Citizenship Bill sent by the President to the House for reconsideration. They were of the view that the Bill should be taken for re-deliberations and should be taken it ahead on the basis of national consensus.     

Shakti Bahadur Basnet called for resuming the Chaurjahari Airport in Rukum west while Satya Pahadhi insisted on the effectiveness of the Prime Minister Employment Fund.     

Hariraj Adhikari demanded the government begin the works of the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project soon while Hit Bahadur Tamang and Hira Gurung expressed their concerns over the frequent waste management issues in the Kathmandu Valley.     

Sitaram Mahato, Sarita Kumari Giri, Narayan Sharma Khanal, Shibamaya Tumbahamphe, Bishnu Sharma, Lal Bahadur Thapa and Laxmi Pariyar drew the government's attention to various contemporary issues. (RSS)
